Play in the Style of Benny Goodman Sextet Book 1
Intermediate/Advanced (AMEB 6th-8th Grade)
Play in the Style of Benny Goodman Sextet Book 1 is a book of 7 original compositions by Andy Firth  in the Benny Goodman style arranged for clarinet soloist with authentic sounding backing tracks featuring Vibraphone, Piano, Guitar, Bass and Drums. Each track is full-length in the format that it could have appeared on an actual Benny Goodman sextet record.
This book series has been carefully crafted to make each piece sound as close to the classic Benny Goodman Sextet sound and style as possible without making the soloist part too difficult to perform. The soloist part also includes chord changes (in concert key) for solo analysis or for chordal instruments to use if required.
The pieces are crafted with the same authentic melodic, harmonic devices and stylistic nuances that Benny Goodman’s sextet recordings utilized in 1940’s through to the late 1950s.
Each piece has a carefully scored jazz clarinet solo that although more accessible to players than Goodman’s tend to be, is nonetheless authentic in its construction and style.
This product includes performance, backing tracks and a clarinet soloist part with chord changes (in concert key) so other chordal-based instruments can play along if required.
