About Tycho, Tycho, Tycho-Clarinet and Piano
Composed for Janet Webb in 2002 for Janet’s debut CD “Tango & all that Jazz”.
“Tycho, Tycho, Tycho” is dedicated to the late, great Australian arranger, conductor and composer, Maestro Tommy Tycho who was a dear friend, mentor and my composition/arranging teacher for over 30 years.
Composed in just two days, the work was recorded in 2002 and then published by reedmusic before being re-scored and edited ten years later for the definitive version that appears here.
“Tycho, Tycho, Tycho” is now a popular choice of work for recitals, college, and exams worldwide and has now been arranged and adapted to work for an advanced-level clarinetist from the original flute score.
Tycho, Tycho, Tycho combines the frantic virtuoso-styled music of Latin America with the syncopated, sophistication of American Jazz. Cuban Music
